Bokeo Social Enterprise (BsE) is an innovative private company that aspires to promote sustainable community development in Bokeo Province, Lao PDR. BsE has a strong social commitment that aims to use economic growth and sound natural resources management to alleviate poverty and contribute to sustainable development in Lao PDR. We are located in Houay Xay, Bokeo Province of northern Laos, and comprised of a one-of-a-kind organic coffee shop, Café MOOooo, as well as an Ethnobotanical Garden and Research Center that is constructed with a zero carbon footprint concept. March 31st, 2009: BsE going to Harvard!

From April 6th to 10th, BsE’s founder and Managing Director Veronique Kittirath will be attending the Harvard University International Bridge Builders Conference as one of 10 selected individuals from a diverse array of countries around the world. Veronique and BsE were nominated and selected to be part of this prestigious annual event of innovative pioneers in fostering positive social changes within and beyond their communities. The participants, called the Bridge Builders, are individuals who cultivate solidarity between the multiple stakeholders involved in international development, grassroots movements, and social justice campaigns. The Conference will be held at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government where the 10 Bridge Builders will share their unique successes and struggles with each other and with the Harvard community. Students and faculty will lead skills sessions for them, offer a range of institutional resources, and organize a comprehensive program of events.
