Veronique Kittirath Managing Director

Born in Laos, raised and educated in France, Veronique returned to her roots in 1995 and has been hooked on the region ever since. She has traveled and worked throughout South East Asia, alternating assignments between private companies, NGOs, bi-lateral and international donor agencies, and managing projects ranging from rural development to private sector promotion including micro finance. Her broad experience and diverse background inspired the original concept of BsE.

     
 

Thiphaphone (Touy) Panyanouvong Research and Information Public Health Specialist

Touy, a native of Vientiane, has a BA as a Medical Doctor and an Msc., in Health Promotion and School Health Education. She has worked with NGOs for several years in programs to develop rural water and sanitation. She has devoted a significant amount of her professional life working in rural community development in the southern and northern provinces of Laos. Her current research focus for BsE is on Lao traditional medicine usage for HIV/TB patients.

     
 

Jipei Zhang Communications

Born and raised in Changsha, a southern city in China, Jipei went on to the U.S.A, for further studies and received a BA in International Relations. With an interest in the non-profit sector, she worked for education NGOs in the U.S.A. She came to Laos as a volunteer English teacher and subsequently worked for a Lao-German bilateral development program. Interested in anything creative from drawing, design to modern dance, Jipei is in charge of communications and the global promotion of BsE.

     
 

Pema Domingo-Barker Creative Assistant

Born to Filipino-British parents in Kathmandu, Nepal, Pema was raised in Lusaka, Zambia and Bangkok, Thailand. She then moved to study BA Arts in Seattle and MA Arts in London. Her global background and lifelong interest in the arts have brought Pema to the BsE where she hopes to fulfill her pursuit of combining creativity with social responsibility. From website design to packaging design to photography, Pema will be focusing on the creative support aspects of Bokeo Social Enterprise.

     
 

Dao Duangvilay Trainee in Organic Farming

Dao was born in a Khmu village just outside of Houay Xay, Bokeo. His involvement with BsE began as early as our founding days when he assisted with building quick and easy but sturdy bamboo structures. Currently, Dao is undergoing training in organic agricultural practices including the making of organic fertilizer and the use of natural pesticides and other environmentally sound practices. He will also combine the new techniques and skills with knowledge on traditional farming from his ethnic community.
